THE SQUAD DOES AN INTRO: GROUP MEET UP - [modplot] [event] [free-for-all]

THE SQUAD DOES AN INTRO: GROUP MEET UP
The Green's binding spell finally works out its kinks and the entire group is teleported into the same area in the center of the city, near the statues of the Tin Man, Cowardly Lion, and Scarecrow.
Everyone in the group feels a tingling sensation as the magic sets in place and binds them. Anyone that tries to leave will now find themselves being teleported back if they wander too far. The group will have to try to stay together when it moves now.
They have a little bit of time to figure things out.
✦ Post in actionspam format. Plots and mod-run events in the game are meant to be in actionspam format to keep a brisk pace.
✦ Free-for-all Post. This event will be in "free-for-all" format, meaning that threadhopping is encouraged and that threading should be treated in the same conversational way as network posts.
✦ By now, the language magic should be fully in place. By now, everyone should have magically learned Sylvaen so that everyone can speak it fluently and understand each other.

[ Thus speaks the man in the futuristic space armor. ]
Revan's lightsabers aren't. My armor has no power. [ ...There's an actual viking here, maybe he should clarify. ] It's not going to be doing anything but being heavy and made of metal.
The extra weird thing is I've got some robot parts, and they're all working just fine. I think. All the important ones, anyway.
[ Not even Simmons knows exactly what's going on in his stupid body at any given time. He's too used to this to be troubled by it. It's the inconsistency of things working at all that's worrying him. What if he walked into a make-stuff-not-work field and now that his armor's out, it'll hit the rest of him if he walks into another? ]

[Did she mishear?]
You've got what?
no subject
[ He says this like it's a totally normal and reasonable thing to have, despite it being pretty weird even by his home universe's standards. ]
no subject
[What do you even say to that. Okay, how about...]
I'm, um, glad that everything's working, at least.

[ For a moment, he just sounds very tired. ]
no subject
It must be getting pretty hot in there.
no subject
[ Perhaps more psychologically than physically, but. ]

[She stares a for a moment, but doesn't have a reason to not take his words at face value.]
That's good to know.
To be honest I'm actually a little envious. A suit of armor is bound to offer much more protection than a school uniform.

The curiosity does eventually get to be a bit too much, though, and they jump into with a golden hand raised like they're asking a teacher a question,]
What do you mean "robot parts"? [Yeah, repeating it didn't help them understand that. And while they're asking their questions...] And what are you?
[That's at least got to be a question on everyone's mind, right? Most of them look similar, the same gem-shape but full of weird details, but this person is like...all metal, and strangely bulkiy.]
no subject
[ Mostly. He's sort of taken aback by the question, really. It doesn't cross Simmons's mind that this weird-looking kid (because Phos sure does look like a kid) might be thrown off by the armor. It's just such a normal part of his life by now. ]
I, uh... Kinda had some parts of me replaced a while back. One of my arms. Organs. A leg. That kind of thing.
[ He hopes he doesn't have to tell the story for now, it's a dumb one. ]
no subject
At least the rest of what the metal person says distracts them from that uncomfortable train of thought. "Organs" they don't know about, but the rest they understand and it's refreshingly familiar. Phos brightens, smiling a bit awkwardly and lifting their metallic arms as if those really needed any pointing out.]
Oh. Ah...same. My legs, too.
[The arms are clearly weird, but their legs, almost too "on display" in their tiny shorts and heels, look normal. For them, anyway. Still too thin, too smooth, too evenly colored, but they at least appear to match the rest of Phos.]
no subject
[ That is a lot of replacement limbs to have. And those arms look like they work way better than his does.
...Did he just say 'wow'? He did. Shit. He's already managed to be an ass to a quadriplegic child. ]
That sucks.
[ Fixed it. Completely. Maybe if he just shifts the topic... ]
Hey, if you're not human, then what are you?
[ The smoothest criminal. ]
no subject
They look a little perplexed by the question, but at least not in the "wow you're a socially incompetent asshole and that subject change was pathetic" kind of way.]]
I'm a Gem.
[What, was the crystalline hair and astonishing beauty not a clear indication? Gosh. Get it together, human.]
no subject
You're a what?
[ Is he hearing that right? It's not accusatory, just... he is having a seriously hard time reconciling this with what he knows gems are. ]
no subject
Eh? You...know what a Gem is, right?
[It's pretty obvious, right? Sure, they themself don't know what humans are...or what anyone here is, for that matter...but surely Gems are a thing elsewhere???]
no subject
[ A beat. Oh hey, where are they? ]
Like this?
[ Simmons scoops up a hunk of emerald off the bricks and holds it up, skepticism open. ]
no subject
Well, yes. But you know what I mean!
no subject
...I don't know how to break this to you, kid, but I really, really don't.
