A soldier doesn't kill unless he's got no other choice.

[He's trying damn hard to not be condescending, but he's never been good at that. Especially when it's people's lives that are a stake- he can be reasoned with, for sure, but he's still never going to like killing anyone as first option.]

I'm sure they've got weaknesses, there must be a way that we can stop them without resorting to it. We cannot possibly have ruled out all the other options already.
