[ There's still a twinge of concern over why his sword is reacting this way. If he needed to protect himself in future and something like this happened, he would need to think of an alternative. He was just happy he could at least attack somewhat with his shield. But that wouldn't be the best backup plan.
But his main concern was this dragon, and not a high dragon or an Archdemon. It was unusual and it could talk and he was oddly fascinated and still slightly terrified all at once. His heart was still pounding in his chest because his instinct is telling him This thing is dangerous but a part of him is telling him to actually listen to what it's saying. If it wanted to kill Alistair, he's pretty sure it would have shown that intent. There's a sigh as he calms himself down. ]
