[It's not that Dixon's never read comics, it's just that Ebbing doesn't have an easy way to get them. His dad gave him a small handful when he was really little, back in the late seventies, X-Men and Batman, but other than that it was just a well-worn Peanuts collection and whatever was in the Sunday paper. He never did get anything with Kon-El in it.]
