Following my last battle, I made a contract with the World to allow me to continue seeking the Holy Grail. So I was able to be summoned as a Heroic Spirit in the Holy Grail Wars of the future so that I could obtain the Grail and fulfill my dying wish. My time o f death was far int he past of Earth, but I was summoned into the modern era as a Heroic Spirit--that is, the year two thousand and two, anno domini.
It is a complex story. That is perhaps the simplest I can put things.
